JUDGE KENNETH POLLOCK'S BACKGROUND
Most kids grow up wanting to be a
baseball player, a fireman, or a policeman.
Maybe even a crime fighter or a rock singer.
Judge Ken Pollock grew up wanting to help people – mainly – the
underdog. That’s what led him to become a successful and respected attorney
in Nevada and California, as well as, a successful District Court Judge.
That desire to do what is right for people – to make sure
they get a fair shot – is what has led Ken to be your Family
Court Judge in Department "J". Ken seeks to continue his
public service as your Judge in Department 29.
Through his law practice, Pollock & Associates, Ken has
gained the admiration of his clients and the law community alike in his
personal, aggressive representation. His client list ranges from individual
to corporate, his cases range from the simple to the complex.
Ken believes in giving to his community. He currently
serves as a member of the Board of Trustees for Speedway Childrens'
Charities; as a Judge in the Trial by Peers program; and as a Judge in the
Nevada High School Mock Trial program. Prior to his election to his
current position, Ken served as an Alternate Municipal Judge for the Las Vegas Municipal
Court.
Previously, Ken served as the Chairperson of the Farmers Insurance
Policyholder group to assist earthquake victims in rebuilding their homes
and lives following the Northridge earthquake.
Ken was also a founding
member of the Los Angeles Family Law Indigent Paternity Panel (FLIPP), a
group of lawyers that assisted low income residents in resolving their paternity
and child support issues. As a member of the FLIPP panel, Ken represented over 300 low
income mothers and fathers in their cases, insuring that their rights
were protected and that they had access to justice.

Through his service as a District Judge,
as well as, over 18+ years as an attorney,
along with over 12 years experience as an arbitrator, Ken
understands the importance of frequent one-on-one communication with all
parties involved in a dispute. Communication and interaction
skills are key and essential to any judge and any courtroom.
Ken knows what it is like to run a
business. He understands deadlines and budgets. Judge Ken Pollock takes
that knowledge to the bench in Department 29.
As a District Judge, an Arbitrator for the Eighth Judicial District Court of
Nevada, and an Alternative Municipal Judge for the Las Vegas Municipal
Court, Ken
developed his interviewing skills, his management techniques, and most
importantly, his ability to listen and judge. Serving
as a Judge, Ken knows how important it is for litigants to be able
to present their case in a fair hearing, to receive the opportunity to be
heard, and to receive a timely resolution to their legal issues. As a
result of those skills, Ken was able to reduce the back load of cases in his
current assignment by over 25% in 1 year.
Ken
understands that his role as Judge is to follow the law, not to make it.
Ken knows the importance to the parties that their case be decided based
upon the law, with consistent, predictable results.
That is what Clark County deserves for the seat of
District Court Judge, Department 29.
Someone who listens – someone who judges fairly. That’s
Judge Ken Pollock, a man and a name you can trust.
